Murray & Roberts : Business System Coordinator - 2019

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Implementation and maintenance of the Murray & Roberts Power & Energy Corporate IT and Project systems.
Minimum Requirements...
EXPERIENCE:
  • 5-10 years relevant engineering and project experience.
  • Previous project experience using Engineering tools.
  • Systems hardware and software knowledge – specification set-up and configuration experience.
  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in working with System Developers in resolving issues.
  • System knowledge of Intergraph, Bentley and Varonis systems

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Relevant technical diploma and qualification

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
  • The effective planning, organisation, coordination and control of the Business Systems department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Implement and maintain Corporate IT and project systems:
  • Provide the necessary hardware and software in accordance with project requirements.
  • Administer and provide first line support for MRPE speciffic application.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems which cannot be handled by M&R Group Shared Services.
  • Ensure hardware and software are operating as per specification.
  • Replace or upgrade hardware if required.
  • Manage the setup of systems on a project and ensure the systems are operating effectively and on schedule.
  • Manage and allocate hardware stock                                                                
     2. Monitor new software performance:

  • Assist in the evaluation of new software in accordance with Murray & Roberts Projects requirements.
  • Recommend or reject software.
  • Configure and install recommended software
     3. User support and training:
  • Provide in-house user training and ongoing help and information which is outside the scope of the M&R Group Shared Services capabilities to users.
  •  Develop IT procedures for system use in conjunction with the Business Systems Manager:
